Mission Statement

The mission of the Adams Central Schools Foundation is to develop, encourage, support and foster improvements to the Adams Central School community.

 Goals

   To identify and secure funding for education opportunities beyond the scope of existing programs.

 

  To expand community and alumni involvement in the school system.

 

   To recognize patrons in the community and alumni who become members of the foundation through giving.

 

   To foster community and alumni support for scholarships.

 

   To have funds available for teachers to improve their teaching skills for the benefit of the students.

Methods of Giving

   Direct Gifts – Gift donations, cash, securities, personal property, or real estate.

 

   Recognition gifts – Cash gifts to honor a person or special occasion.

 

  Memorial Gifts – Money donated to honor a deceased relative or friend.

 

   Bequests – a gift given through a will including:

 

   Specific Bequest – donor specifies a dollar amount or percentage of the estate to be transferred to the Foundation.

 

 Contingent Bequest – the assets of the estate are transferred to the Foundation previously named if the beneficiaries are no longer living.

 

    Residuary Bequest – after all specific bequests have been satisfied, the Foundation receives all or a portion of the remaining estate assets.

 

   Special Endowment Fund – Cash donations or bequests of $10,000 or more may be given to establish a special scholarship in the name of a donor or loved one.

 

   Life Insurance – this allows to change their premium dollars into charitable contributions by assigning benefits to the Foundation.  Premiums may be tax deductible, and the policy benefits may be exempt from estate taxes.

Events and Groups

Alumni Association

Diane (Grothen) McLeod and Lisa Prior are working with the Adams Central Foundation to compile contact information for all Adams Central graduates.  The Foundation is considering doing several things with this information such as a bi-annual newsletter and a banquet or social time for all alumni in conjunction with the annual Adams Central Booster Club Alumni Basketball/Volleyball Tournament in March.  This list could then be used when a class was planning a reunion to find classmates.  We would also like this list to be a "two way street" after classes hold a reunion they would then share the updated information with the Foundation.  We also hope that alumni will begin to inform the Foundation of changes as they occur.
